Musings

Not too long ago, I was talking to a friend and we both come from middle class families, we reminisced our childhood whereby we created our own fun, as our families did not have a disposable income to afford us new gadgets and toys. This reminded me of how my brothers and I would “recycle” dad’s cigarette packs, and stacked them up in a rows, eventually forming pyramid. We made paper bullets out of used-exercise paper and then we “hooked” the folded paper bullet around a rubberband and pulled it, pretty much like how a slingshot works and took aim at the stacked cigarette boxes with the intention of toppling as many of the stacked cigarette boxes. This was just one of many examples of simple makes, which gave us hours of fun. Can you recall your childhood “hacks”? Feel free to share .
