CNC ROUTER BASICS
A computer numerical control (CNC) router used for precise cutting of various materials such as wood, metal, and plastics. This machine excels at cutting and engraving complex shapes and patterns that would otherwise be very difficult or impossible to do by hand. Students in this class will learn basic safety and operation of our 1.5kW CNC router. Instruction is provided for the student to be able to use the graphics software, operate the machine’s controls and to create tool-paths that will perform cutting, v-carving, profiling and engraving operations. Some knowledge of vector graphics is recommended, but beginners will be able to perform basic routing operations.
